Carrick-Anderson take on Haiming in Austria
Recently we travelled to Haiming in Austria as a family to race in the HC race there. I had previously raced here and it is one of my favourite tracks which is why I was keen to return.

Thanks to RFC I was able to attend the ITU multi-sport world championship in Ibiza. I has so much fun and learned lots whilst racing the cross- duathlon.
Thank you @RideForCharlie for the fantastic support to allow me to race at the @3nationscup in Netherlands, Oldenzaal. Luck wasn’t on my side as annoyingly, I fell ill the day we travelled out.
Thanks to Ride For Charlie, I was able to race at the 3 Nations Cup in Oldenzaal on a super fast and technical course, with a lot of short steep climbs and single track.
A huge thank you to Ride for Charlie for supporting me at the first round of the 3 Nations Cup in Oldenzaal, Netherlands. I arrived to find a dry and technical course with plenty of steep punchy climbs.
It was an amazing opportunity and i am so happy to come away with 12th place after a long hot battle for the top 10 which i only just missed out on.
I just want to say a huge thank you to ride for Charlie for supporting my trip to Spain to compete in one of my first xc races, the Chelva UCI.
I absolutely loved the time I had out in Spain, gaining technical skills, experience and understanding of European racing.
“Thanks to the support from Ride for Charlie, I had the opportunity to compete in my first UCI XC stage race. Lanzarote’s unique loose over hard volcanic terrain and sand, in combination with a high level of competition, provided the perfect environment to develop bike handling skills and fast paced group racing tactics. I loved the stage race format and enjoyed using each day’s course profile to my strengths to look for a competitive advantage and gain time on my rivals in the general classification”.
Despite the good results and UCI points my biggest win was my hand being pain free for 4 back to back days on the MTB when this time last year it hurt riding on the smooth Calpe roads.
Charlie was a special boy who went to sleep on Friday the 20 January and didn’t wake up, he was 15. He left his family and friends in a state of shock and an incredible hole in our hearts. We miss him more every day.

Our aim is to support young off road cyclists, who are or would have been inspired by Charlie to follow in his pedal strokes. Our vision is to allocate funding to self motivated young individuals, who will be appraised for eligibility by the trustees.
We want to hear from young boys and girls age 14 and above who ride off- road bikes and have been inspired by stories of Charlie and his life.
